forrest gump
my random visit to a shop at causeway point ended with my best buy ever. for $9.90, i cried, laughed, learnt and found hope.
tom hanks was forrest gump, a boy who was born with low IQ and yet, could overcome more than what any normal person could. the story depicts different stages of his life to different people at the bus stop. some disregarded him, some scorned at him, some listened to him.
and there were some who laughed at him; how could a slow looking man graduate from college, become the star player of the football team, be a hero in vietnam war, run the whole of america several times, build an empire from fishing prawns and become a millionaire?
he lived life innocently. more often than not, it was also this innocence that brought hope to people around him. his simplicity taught others how to live life. people who are smart, ambitious and powerful.
maybe we should find the innocence we once had. maybe we should discover the simplicity that we once had before we were shrouded by the successes, cynicism and experiences. and i believe, it is in this innocence where we will truly find a life that is worth living.
a life worthy.
