ANNYONG HASEYO!
look at our excited smiles
the gungho team

the lovely horizon, serene surroundings, sweet fragrance, good company
and a whole bunch of dead bodies
(we were at a cemetary, see?)

godpa and godma

my muses

jake - the thorn among the roses (and he's really upset!)

i love how we spent every waking hour together and with God. these pictures can hardly convey the joy, the unity, the excitement and the fire that we experienced there.

나는 신을 사랑한다 !

laugh out loud
have you ever seen me laugh? because if you have, you would fully comprehend what laugh out loud means. i don't know, i've this crazy, loud, radical, hysterical and (did i mention loud?) laughter. it kind of dawned on me when i actually heard the resonance of my laughters in the mountains of guizhou. it actually sounded like it was 9254decibals.

but you know, i really enjoy laughing out like this (sorry, irritated friends). it is such a joy being able to LAUGH like crap, and to LAUGH like probably a hyena, and and and to JUST LAUGH. if you are already laughing like me , then i'm preaching to a convert. but seriously, try it today. it is a load of the shoulders, and a dose of happiness from heaven. did i mention, you've go to laugh really loud? yeah.

p.s don't you dare tell my sister i told you to do so.

here's something for you to start with; you're definitely gonna have a whirl of a time. but hey, whatever!

this entry was totally inspired by baby ally who made me laugh so hard i heard echoes in my room. and for this, i salute that tiny tot... who might not even know what she was talking about.

glamour, glamour wherefore art thou?
you know there are times when i just simply wish the celebs are who they are when they act? isn't that much easier for us, THE NORMAL PEOPLE, to identify with them and maybe, even to empathise their misery when it comes to losing their privacy etc. i mean seriously, no one will want to bully that kind, sweet and innocent jeanette aw if she is really the person she was on holland village. and of course, if fann wong is as poof in switch!, no one will have the heart to pester her about her relationship with an ex-jailbird.

do i sound a little spiteful? yeah, maybe it's because i WANT to lose my privacy and no one is bothering me about that yet. well, i guess i'll settle for some little known fame in the blogging arena, which in fact, have not materialise yet.

argh.

outrage of modesty
okay, does this mean rape or molest? this euphemised way of telling us someone has been raped/molested (AT MY BLK THAT IS) makes me reflect on the society today. everything is said in a make-it-sound-better kind of way and that is just farcicial!

an urgent letter: owe money pay money
i will call you again: don't pester me
see first lor: i'm not coming
i am not trying to be rude: i am rude by nature
do you understand what i mean?: i am not explaining well but it is your fault
teenagers open about sex: promiscuous!

see what i mean? maybe it's our desire to flaunt our oh-so-fabulous vocabulary, or even to make ourselves a little higher in class that where we really are. but in the bid to become better, we have become a superficial society going for the appearance and packaging. and nobody knows it. beware!

come and go
celena flew off two days ago to western australia. i have no idea why everything seems to be running in a 'forward' mode! i will definitely miss her. and with the ocip'07 selection camp coming up (which we are invited to join), i will certainly feel the void. if cel is ever gonna read this, COME BACK SOON!!

lost!
by divine (i mean it) chance, i met my recruit express friends while at the airport (okay, they were there to send cel off too). a weird feeling, definitely. it just seemed so long ago and the things they were talking about no longer made sense to me! no more inside jokes and gossips about candidates. regardless, (as political as i will be-don't forget i worked in govt svc before), i will keep in touch with them within 3 working days, if you know what i mean.

one beefcake and a hippie
all the misery aside, i had such a great time with sean (cheesy full name sean michael) and sharon that afternoon. it was such a nice catching up session at starbucks. sean is still the big friendly giant we know him to be and sharon is still as quirky as far as i see (though completely jaded by the hokkien cheers and sexist games in the recent nus camp). we are going to tau-huey at NB on sat!

to eternity and beyond
kudos to korean-team! blk 3 meeting was a eye-opener for me to see how God spoke to each of us individually and using us to form a beautiful story in rym. it's friends like that who keeps me grounded in my faith and in the bid to press on towards my goal. indeed, to eternity and beyond!

you've got to let it go
i went for tuition with my two girls for the first time today. being the practical person that i am, i was so gunning to leave when the time was up (you see, you've got to set the standard). one and a half hours, see you next week. but no! 9:15 and i was still teaching them how to write a concluding paragraph! can you imagine the dire torment?

but guess what? i remembered matt5:41 ("if someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles") which i heard in the sermon of joseph prince. let it go and go the extra mile, and in my case, the extra hour. and when i came round to it, i felt joyful! be a good tuition teacher, go the extra hour - that's my motto, as of now.

south korean christians held hostage in afghanistan
my heart goes out to the families of the 23 christians. i am convicted that these 23 people would be ready to martyr for God when they were kidnapped from their bus. yet, it is their families whom i feel for. will their faiths falter if their child were to be killed? will they be as assured of their faith like their children who have given up their lives?

but come what may, we have 24 more hours (verified on the news) to pray for them. let's pray for a miracle in the face of hopelessness and in the midst of misery, joy from their trust in God. let's see what the talebans can do in the next 24hours when the whole world is praying for the people they captured.
