highly literary, with occasional grammar slips
giddy spellsjust yesterday, my mommy cut off a piece of her nail and the tip of her index finger.I HAD TO LIE DOWN WHEN I SAW THE BLOOD!i shall spare you those vivid details (her index finger was so badly wounded, i think she bled half a cup of blood). thank goodness she heeded our advice (or nagging) to see a doc today. she's better now FYI.
shakespeare is a little better than i think he is.this infamous author was a bisexual (i.e like boys, like girls), screwed up his last few years, wrote crazy happy endings (in a nutshell, over surrealistic) and created
romeo and juliet (have you read that nonsense?!). but from today onwards, i will heart him till my last breath.
because he wrote
Sonnet 130! hold your breath for the next 14 lines, because it is going to take your breath away!
sonnet 130
My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damasked, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound;
I grant I never saw a goddess go;
My mistress, when she walks, treads on ground.
And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
As any she belied with false compare.
for the confused, lost and puzzled individuals;
in this poem, the poet made it known that this mistress is awfully ugly (you see it when he says black wires grow on her hair, and how stinky her breath is). everything under the sun is better than his beloved. yet, he swears by heaven, that his love be true to her. despite the compare, his love transcends all physical beauty. he loves her.
*I SO HEART SHAKESPEARE!
disclaimer: boys, never ever give this poem to a girl you like. she will stab you, pull out your tongue, pluck out all your teeth and then throw you into the sea.
