highly literary, with occasional grammar slips

you've got to let it go
i went for tuition with my two girls for the first time today. being the practical person that i am, i was so gunning to leave when the time was up (you see, you've got to set the standard). one and a half hours, see you next week. but no! 9:15 and i was still teaching them how to write a concluding paragraph! can you imagine the dire torment?

but guess what? i remembered matt5:41 ("if someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles") which i heard in the sermon of joseph prince. let it go and go the extra mile, and in my case, the extra hour. and when i came round to it, i felt joyful! be a good tuition teacher, go the extra hour - that's my motto, as of now.

south korean christians held hostage in afghanistan
my heart goes out to the families of the 23 christians. i am convicted that these 23 people would be ready to martyr for God when they were kidnapped from their bus. yet, it is their families whom i feel for. will their faiths falter if their child were to be killed? will they be as assured of their faith like their children who have given up their lives?

but come what may, we have 24 more hours (verified on the news) to pray for them. let's pray for a miracle in the face of hopelessness and in the midst of misery, joy from their trust in God. let's see what the talebans can do in the next 24hours when the whole world is praying for the people they captured.
